NEED
GROWTH CAPITAL?
If you own or manage a small-medium enterprise in Niagara, or have clients who
do, the Niagara Enterprise Agency may be able to help get the funds you need
for the growth necessary to take full advantage of market opportunities.
Getting the financing required for growth
can be a time-consuming and difficult process. It demands skills and knowledge most small business owners have little experience or training in.
Therefore good ideas are often lost because of inadequate presentations. This is where the expertise of
the NEA and our community partners can be critical.
Typically the NEA follows a five step
process
- INTAKE
requests are made directly or referred through business service professionals
such as lawyers or accountant. Once contact is made we arrange for a
prescreening meeting to ensure the services we provide are appropriate
- ENGAGEMENT
occurs when a way forward is agreed upon by both parties. We charge fees for
our services which are negotiated during this stage based on the complexity
of the project
- PREPARATION
of whatever plans, studies or documentation is required to pursue investment.
Fees-for-service rates are agreed upon prior to undertaking any projects
- PROPOSAL VETTING AND DUE DILIGENCE
Once all the preparation work is done and a business plan and/or an investment
plan is prepared the proposal is vetted by business professionals and due
diligence work is carried out if necessary
- SOURCING INVESTORS
The Niagara Enterprise Agency will only take proposals it deems qualified to
appropriate investors. In the case of business seeking investments from the
NIAGARA GROWTH FUND (NGF) the proposal is forwarded to the NGF’s Investment Manager
We encourage businesses seeking growth
capital to do some preliminary research on the subject. An excellent source of
information and advice is Industry Canada’s Strategis web-site:
